It’s been years since I last saw Ally Mcbeal. I guess even cable TV has no time for old TV shows with the number of new series fighting for people’s attention.

What made me miss this show more is when I saw these clips from YouTube. One is a cute little dance number of the cast to Barry White’s classic songs. The next clip is one of the most heartbreaking scenes of the series (so I’m a romantic weirdo who loves dramatic scenes, got a problem with that? ).

I hope I could buy a DVD boxset of Ally McBeal someday. I not so sure if the friendly Quiapo DVD vendor has a loot of old TV series under his coat. Do they? A little help here.

Author’s note: Spoilers after the cut

Call me weird but it was only recently when I realized why only in Summer (June-August) do the most anticipated movies appear on the big screen. This is their time to lure the consumers away from their TV sets since most of TV series have already aired their season finales and will be back by September — or January depending on the network’s decision.

A few weeks after Prison Break, Grey’s Anatomy has closed yet another season and will be back by fall this year. Unlike my rave review on the former’s season finale, season 3 of Grey’s has become a real disappointment.

Maybe it’s because of the spectacular season that preceded it. As of this writing, season 2 has been the best season for Grey’s. Each episode was never a dull moment and all story arcs have been presented magnificently using the Grey’s formula everyone grew to love. I’m not the only one who expected this season to be at par if not surpassed its predecessor. Just look at the show’s official blog. It speaks for itself.

Although, you have to admit, Sandra Oh was simply amazing in the season finale. I believe she made herself the star of the show shadowing the rest of the cast with her talent. Her last scene with Ellen Pompeo was just heartbreaking. I have been repeating the scene over and over that I lost count.

Hopefully, the writers know what they’re doing with season four. They just left everyone so bitter and depressed that it seems like another teen emo drama series. Then again, with all the rumors of cast members leaving the show would prove to be a problem to really think through. Kate Walsh’s departure is the only definite news while Washington, Knight and Ramirez are still up for … eavesdropping perhaps?

In any case, it would take weeks and a few more episodes if the series has redeemed itself or jumped the shark.

Author’s note: Spoilers after the cut

Ok, I admit it. I am a Prison Break fan. My sister had a copy for season one as a Christmas gift and it was just lying aroundby the DVD rack so I thought I’d give it a shot. It actually took me five days to finish season one and I have to control myself from watching the all the episodes from season 2 DVD (which was only 10 at that time) in one sitting. This series was very refreshing and entertaining that I even “forced” dear hubby to watch it too.

Season two has ended for about two months now. I agree with the majority of the viewers out there — syet, bitin! I never saw that one coming. Of course, I never seen ANY of it coming. It’s like been thrown in so many directions with all the plot twists and turns present. Then again, it is Prison Break after all. It wouldn’t be the same without them. Such is its existence.

I can’t wait ’till Fall for season three premier. I could only speculate with how everything would turn out — from Michael, Bellick and Mahone’s imprisonment in SONA, Lincoln’s reaction with Sarah’s ‘statement’ and departure from the police station and of course, the new conspiracy that will drive the whole season. I’ll just have one hope, though. The hint of sci-fi associated with SONA didn’t do well for me. It would be better if they’d just stick with political conspiracies and not go all X-Files in an instant. I’d like to keep the realistic feel of the series.

And pleeeease, don’t kill one of the brothers off. This news caught me off-guard. I don’t want any of the two to be dead. Their characteristics are so unique and complimentary that it gives the show its distinct flavor.
