The First Day of the Rest of my Life

Apr 27

It’s official: I graduated from UP with a degree of BS Electronics and Communications Engineering

*applause applause*

(hehe, pardon the images, they’re only scanned copies of the actual programme)

To think that I have been wishing for this since my freshman year. I am so glad I made it. After all that I have been through to get this far, reaching the finish line feels sweeter and more rewarding. In retrospect, I feel that each year in UP has some theme and meaning in it:

Freshman Year: Reinvention and adaptation (haha, for a catholic school girl like me, I could not have sum it better :P )

Second Year: Learning ouside the classroom and yes, my first (and only!) failed subject ever.

Third Year: Experiencing the highest of highs and the lowest of lows — but the highest high still prevails (buti na lang at wala siyang expiration date)!

Fourth Year: Getting back on the right track with sheer will and strong focus — also known as Acad hell part 1

Fifth Year: Graduation! (Well, after acad hell part two, my 1 year ESC stint and ack, thesis) :D

I’m not saying that my college years are better than my high school years. The non-linearity of my college experience just feels so unusual from my days in a plaid skirt.

Oh and yeah, before I forget:

Thanks to the awesomeness of my thesis partner and our CS counterparts, we managed to land third place in the Undergraduate Research Competition of the College! And that spells “second moment in stage” for me and my groupmates. Hehehehehe. Gratitude is also extended to Ma’am Gev, our adviser for making this feat possible! :D

*sigh* I’ll be missing UP for sure. But, there are still a long list to do and a future life to secure…

.. For today marks the first day of the rest of my life.
