The light at the end of the tunnel

Finally, the week-long registration is finally over. Technically, it will end next week, since the term ‘late reg’ is not applicable any longer. I am just relieved that my shift involves sitting down unlike walking/driving around the campus.
In a very surprising turn of events, I can graduate next April 2008 without the fear of getting delayed because of the minor subject deficiency! Wohoo!
You see, our DSP laboratory head, Sir Franz, made CoE 127 a required subject for the new student affiliate of the lab (yes, folks — we passed!). I had to cancel 2 subjects because of this and in the end, I’m left with 20 units (7 subjects w/ the GE subject that I lack) this semester and 17 units (5 subjects) on my graduating sem. Although the possibility of graduating on time is uplifting, it will not be a walk in the park unlike my other batchmates who only have less than 10 units left.
First sem load:
CoE 127 (Audio and Speech Processing) — the required elective. I believe our College Dean will teach this subject
ECE 153 (Wireless Communications) — every Friday from 6-9pm… no Friday night parties for me
EEE 53 (Electronic Circuits II)
EEE 190 — Pre-thesis subject
ME 63 (Thermodynamics)
CE 22 (Engineering Economy)
Comm 3 — the GE deficiency (boo!). I have to be with a class full of freshies…
Second sem load:
EEE 54 (Electronics Laboratory II) — canceled subject number 1
Any EEE elective — I might take up wired comms
CoE 115 (Microprocessor-Based Design) — canceled subject number 2
ECE 113 (Communication Electornics)
ECE 198 — undergraduate thesis subject
The last three subjects are reputed to be really difficult and time-consuming. In any case, I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to continue my no-failure streak (no failures since 2nd sem AY 04-05). I have been praying to actually graduate on time since I was a freshman. God really has a weird way of answering prayers.
So, if I don’t get to write anything in here for a long time, you’ll know why.
