About Risha
Shoot! Talking about myself would always be one of the hardest things to do. And it doesn’t help that other people have a knack of presenting themselves creatively. I guess I’d better start with the basics.
I’m Mary Shalom Berdan Lopez. Risha is the name I prefer to be called but some couldn’t associate the nickname to the real name immediately so I often end up having double personalities.
Currently, I am taking up my undergraduate degree, BS Electronics and Communications Engineering, at the University of the Philippines Diliman. I am also a department representative of the Engineering Student Council. My field of expertise has not been decided yet, although I am pursuing my Student affiliate application at the Digital Signals Processing Laboratory. Whether I end up as a multi-media, speech, or a hardcore communications engineer is still up for debate.
I am the second child and the eldest daughter in the family. Fortunately, my family does not belong in the top dysfunctional families of all time. And please, we are not in any way related to the money-hungry people with the same last name. We are not part of any political dynasty, either. We are just any other middle-class family trying to get by despite the country’s crazy state. I really can’t point out the reason why but we still refuse to migrate to another country.
Admittedly, I was never the life of the party. Introverted person that I am, I relish being the ultimate wallflower. But I do have a close circle of friends with whom I can go loco with. We have been friends since High School and I think it will stick that way until we grow old. Much like Ya-Ya sisterhood without the traumatic life episodes (well, not in excess…).
I don’t have concrete plans for my future but I know with whom I want to spend it with. I love my guy, and I will always love him.
